Jorge Prado INJURY UPDATE - out for Glendale Supercross
Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jorge Prado is sidelined for this weekends racing in
Glendale, Arizona. During the first time qualified session at Anaheim 2, the Spaniard
over jumped a rhythm section and ultimately crashed over the berm, into the safety
nets. Prado sustained a dislocated shoulder from the crash. which ruled him out from
competing at Anaheim 2.
The four-time world campion is renowned for his starting ability, so it is fair to say that
the timing of this injury is unfortunate with this weekends Triple Crown format.
Although a 14 th and 12 th place finish, over the first two rounds doesn’t jump of the
page for a rider of Prado’s calibre, the riding alone has certainly shown glimpses of
speed and his lap times during the main events, have been competitive with the top
ten group.
Kawaski released the following statement, updating fans on the status of Jorge:
“Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jorge Prado was forced to sit out Anaheim 2 after a
crash during qualifying led to a dislocated shoulder. He hopes to be back soon after
taking some time to rest and assess his shoulder.”
Although it is unclear when we can expect to see #70 back on the gate, I don’t
imagine the team will be rushing Jorge back if he is not 100%, with this being his first
full season racing the AMA Supercross series.
