Anaheim 2 "comments from the couch"
Welcome to the post race comments from the couch.
A look at the race day that's just been completed in a manner that can only come from the comfort of your home couch.
It's not necessarily the story of the winners. It whatever goes on that you might have missed but was interesting, maybe in a humorous manner, at least in a light hearted way.
It's the comments from the couch post Anaheim 2

There is something magical about opening ceremonies in Anaheim. The lights. The noise. The pyro. Welcome to Anaheim
One thing you don't want to do in your first full season of Supercross. Dislocated your shoulder. Unfortunately Jorge Prado found the ground on qualifying and that will be it for him for a few weeks.
Jo shimoda has cut his glove to make his finger fit. Must be swollen as .... !
Now I get that the hand guard is only on the bike to add some protection for Shimoda's injured fingers. But can we get two hand guards on the bike please. One looks ridiculous. Likely unbalanced too.
Gift cards all round to get the job done. Nice to hear that the rookie Drew Adams made the effort to make this fill in happen and then being grateful enough to buy the crew members gift cards to thank them for the extra work they did to make it happen. Nice to hear the kid has some perspective and humility.
Did anyone expect Haiden Deegan to not put a bit of spice on a pass with the points leader the first time he had the chance?? No? Thought so.
Eli Tomac with the red plates. Capping off his look in all red astars gear. Hopefully the all red look isn't seen as a target for the field later in the night. Let's circle back to this later.
Add in that Eli is looking beastly in this heat. Gaps Cooper Webb and just destroying berms like only Eli Tomac can. Watch out main event.
Oh Freddie Noren closes the door on Justin Cooper's going straight to the main. LCQ for a factory rider again this week.
Isn't it funny the unintentional respect you can show to the rider you may not respect the most. Jett Lawrence has definitely changed his attack methods for Jason Anderson. Probably cost him a heat race bonus. But Jason rode that heat race beautifully.
Colin Jurin. Talk about a gap between main events. 11 years. Welcome back to the Main show!
Stacked fields no doubt in 2025. Cooper, Nichols, Bloss, Chisholm and that was just the 450 LCQ! Four factory bikes. Poor privateers. No chance off the gate.
Kevin Moranz steals the last spot. The angle he took to get that last qualifying position back from Harrison early on was wild!
They say entry speed in the whoops is key. Cole Davies either has the key or the no care kid attitude. Damn he has some entry speed.
So some mid race rain really throws a spanner in the works. Juju Beaumer dropped back into the reach of Jordon Smith trying to run dry race lines. Once he worked out a few tweaks to keep finding traction. Like jumping whoops and changing a rhythm he maintained his gap. Jordon keeps sending it and ends his podium streak with Triumph. Gifting Cole Davies his first podium. It might be early. But this season is a a step to a championship year. If Cole Davies gets a win this season. I'm calling him for a championship next year. But only if he stops claiming that turning the assist off on a video game helped him learn the track. Nobody should ever turn the assist off.
So does Haiden Deegan just need a start to win in Supercross?
With Jo Shimoda now 13 points down. Is it worth staying in it? One more race and then he gets a break while East coast series comes in. Maybe he can still pull this off? Maybe.
These factory teams. Colour coordinated rags to cover the grips. I mean they do think of everything!
Oh what a ride for the cowboy. His (Red?) Bull ran off without him on a Honda. DNF for Aaron Plessinger.
Jett wheelies the whoops. Ohhhh!!!
Smart moves by Jett after the move on Jason Anderson. Inside and take him high. Then inside for the next one thousand corners!
Kenny is made for these slippery conditions. But Jett learnt from Heiko too.
Did anyone notice Moto concepts and Vince wasn't at A2???
Just when you're about to say Cooper Webb might not be on the pace this season. There he is running it back in on Eli Tomac trying to take back that 7th place on the last lap.
Jett back on top of the box. You could feel that coming. Is this the start of a new run of Wins?
Ken Roczen takes the red plates onto that Suzuki! He has been so consistent to start the season and the red plates is his reward.
The rain really made this track and event entertaining. Shame we are going to a enclosed venue in Arizona next week. It rains in Arizona often right???
Circling back to Eli Tomac in red. I think him spinning on the gate ruined that red gear target out front for this week at least.
Well that's all the comments we have from the couch this week. Thanks for reading. It's time to get off the couch!
