“Nine Things About Amanda”

“Nine Things About Amanda”

Who is Amanda? Why is she smiling? And who is the little girl next to her?

Amanda is, among other things, Miss BooKoo Supercross 2006. She’s bright, energetic, and beautiful. She’s hardworking, with a great attitude, and always smiling. She’s a great example for young girls wanting to pursue a career in motorsports, or any other professional endeavors.

Mike Kidd & Gary Becker join

Ft. Worth TX January 19, 2006: Mike Kidd Entertainment Group announced
today that Gary Becker, former CEO of PACE Motor Sports, has joined
Mike Kidd Entertainment Group. MKEG directs the BooKoo Arenacross
Championship Series, as well as other motor sports events that Becker
and Kidd are developing.

Gary Becker helped lead PACE Motor Sports to become one of the largest
motor sport promotion companies in the world; a company known for its
premiere Supercross series that Becker himself helped build, which was
then acquired by SFX Entertainment and then Clear Channel.

“After fours years of retirement, I’ve missed the sport and the people
involved that really brought about a lot of passion for me,” said
Becker. “I’m ready to get back into the motor sports business, and I
think Mike Kidd has a great start with the BooKoo Arenacross Series.
Mike and I both have the same philosophy that our events should support
the growth and success of all parties involved, including racers,
sponsors and teams.”

Mike Kidd began promoting events as Mike Kidd Productions in the mid
1980s, following a successful career as a racer in the AMA Grand
National Series, winning the 1981 Grand National Championship.

Mike Kidd Promotions was the largest and most successful AMA Arenacross
series throughout the 1980s and 1990s before selling to PACE Motor
Sports in 1997, of which Gary was CEO.

“Gary and I go way back” said Mike Kidd. “As a racer I competed in
several PACE events, and when Gary was CEO of PACE Motor Sports, I sold
them my Arenacross series in 1997. Now to be able to once again find
myself in a great position to work with someone who is as passionate
and proven in this business as I am, is just an added bonus to what we
have planned” he added.

The reuniting of these two teams will solidify an already strong
partnership that will introduce new racing events to the motor sports
fan and provide the resources to continue to build and expand the new
BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series.

Supercross va à l’est

Supercross va à l’est

Halfway thru the 2006 AMA Supercross Series, here’s how things are shakin’:

Chad Reed is in the points lead with 171. James Stewart is second 152. Ricky Carmichael is third with 140. All are on 450cc four-stroke machines.

Round 1 in Anaheim saw James Stewart fire the opening shot with a win. Reed second, Carmichael third.

Round 2 in Phoenix had Carmichael rebounding for the win, Reed second again, Stewart third after a fall.

Round 3 in Anaheim saw the same results two week in a row – Carmichael first, Reed second, Stewart third. (Are we beginning to see a pattern developing here?)

Round 4, San Francisco, mud. James Stewart wins, Carmichael second, Reed fifth.

Round 5, back in Anaheim again. Carmichael victorious, Reed second, Stewart eighth after two falls.

Round 6, San Diego. Stewart wins after following Carmichael most of the race. Carmichael second, Reed third.

Round 7, first event in the ‘east’, St. Louis. Reed wins, Stewart 17th, Carmichael 20th. Ouch!

Round 8, Atlanta. Carmichael wins, Reed second, Stewart third. And Carmichael had 25 points docked for fuel that didn’t meet AMA standards.

The west Lites division did six events to date. The points have Andrew Short with 118, Grant Langston with 116, and Nate Ramsey with 107.

The east Lites division has completed two races. Davi Millsaps is on top with 47 points. A resurgent Branden Jesseman is second with 38, Chris Gosselaar third with 34, Martin Davalos fourth with 30.
