Yoshimura R&D of America is proud to announce their continued support of the 2012 Honda Racing team in their campaign of the 2012 AMA Supercross and Motocross championships. Yoshimura is also stepping it up to support the GEICO Honda team for the 2012 season and beyond. Both teams will have Yoshimura’s championship-proven RS-4 and the all-new RS-4D performance exhaust systems at their disposal, as well as a number of other Yoshimura performance hard parts and engine performance systems.
Yoshimura is happy to continue their support of the Honda Racing team for a seventh consecutive year. American Honda welcomes Justin Brayton to the team for 2012. Brayton will join second-year factory Honda racer Trey Canard on the team and contest both the AMA Supercross Championship and AMA Motocross Championship aboard Yoshimura-equipped Honda CRF450R race machines. Returning to factory Honda for her fourth season with the team is three-time Women’s Motocross Champion Ashley Fiolek. The 21-year-old racer will defend her 2011 Women’s Motocross (WMX) title in the 2012 season aboard her Yoshimura-equipped Honda CRF250R.
“I think 2012 is going to be an exciting year of racing for American Honda,” said Team Manager Erik Kehoe. “We’re extremely happy to be continuing our relationship with Yoshimura R&D. Yosh has continually provided us great product that definitely helps maximize the performance advantage of our Honda CRF450R’s. We’re looking forward to a successful year in 2012.”
Yoshimura is also happy to announce a new multi-year agreement of support for the GEICO Honda team. GEICO Honda has been a frontrunner and dominant force in both the AMA Supercross and Motocross Lites Championships for a number of years. 2012 will mark the first year of support for the team and Yoshimura will be providing the championship-proven RS-4 and RS-4D exhaust systems to outfit the team’s Honda CRF250Rs and CRF450Rs.
“We’re excited to be pairing up with Yoshimura R&D,” said GEICO Honda’s Darren Borcherding. “We’ve seen what they’ve done for the Factory Honda team over the years and have been very impressed with the quality and performance of their exhaust systems and other products. Partnering with Yoshimura was the next step in unifying our in-house engine program that works closely with Factory Honda. We’re looking forward to a successful long-term relationship.”
“We are excited to be able to partner with Honda Racing and GEICO Honda for supercross and motocross in 2012,” said Yoshimura R&D Senior Vice President, Don Sakakura. “Racing is our passion here at Yoshimura and we’re quite happy to be able to compete at such a high level in this sport with these top teams. We’re looking forward to a long and successful future together. Racing and R&D have become important ingredients in developing the best in quality, highest-performance products we can provide our customers, so it’s important that we continue maintaining a strong presence in racing.”
