Washougal MX Park
Carmichael continues his domination, Tedesco stays strong
250: What can you say about Ricky Carmichael? This guy has dominated the 250 ‘nationals’ since his first season in the class (2000). He won both motos today, leads the point standings by a large margin, and is heading towards his sixth consecutive AMA 250 National Championship. Second overall today was Kevin Windham (2/2). Ernesto Fonseca finished third overall (4/3).
Notes: You might be asking ‘Where are Chad Reed and James Stewart?” Both of them did not race this weekend due to concussions. Chad had a practice crash earlier in the week, and James is still suffering effects from his crash at Unadilla a few weeks ago.
125: Ivan Tedesco won his second ‘national’ in a row, with finishes of 1/3. He leads the point standings as well with 302. Second overall today was Andrew Short – he went 2/2. Broc Hepler took third overall with moto finishes of 5/1.
Notes: Grant Langston, Mike Alessi, and Mike Brown all had less-than-stellar afternoons. Langston went 3/26 with a couple of stalls/falls in the second moto. Alessi went 7/21, and Brown had finishes of DNF/10. Lap times today averaged approx. 2 minutes 30 seconds.
TV: August 27 – OLN TV – 4pm Eastern Time – Spring Creek MX
Next event: August 21 – Binghampton NY
Chad Reed, Travis Pastrana, Kevin Windham, and Jeremy McGrath Pennants.
