Tony Cairoli, two times MX2 World Motocross Champion, clinches his first ever MX1 World Motocross title with one round to go!
Tony was the most consistent rider all season, finishing every moto. His worst overall finish of the entire year was an eighth He has the most wins of any rider this season too – 4 Grand Prix victories. Tony – Smart. Tony – Knew when to be aggressive and make passes, and knew when to be conservative.

- Round 3 – Turkey – 1st
- Round 4 – Holland – 2nd
- Round 5 – Portugal – 1st
- Round 6 – Spain – 3rd
