Known originally as an outdoor specialist, Mike has figured out how to keep pace in Supercross as well.
Mike Alessi was perhaps the most highly anticipated rider to come out of the amateur ranks in the past decade. With his brother, Jeff, alongside and a father who aggressively pushed every aspect of their careers, Mike jumped straight into the big-bike class at the end of the 2004 outdoor season… and posted a third overall at Steel City, He would then bump down to the 250 class where he raced for Red Bull KTM. After leaving KTM for Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Mike made the full-time switch to the 450 class. Under the watchful eye of Roger DeCoster and with input from the likes of Ricky Carmichael, Mike became the veteran leader for the yellow squad. He was consistently at the front of the pack and was one of the few men who could keep James Stewart in sight.
