Supercross 2010 Preview (Part 7) – GEICO Powersports Honda
Published January 6th, 2010
One of the biggest teams for Supercross 2010 is the GEICO Powersports Honda team. Their supercross & motocross team was started years ago by Factory Connection Racing partners Rick Zielfelder & Jeffrey Majkrzak. The team this year includes 5 riders:
Kevin Windham – 450 Supercross. Kevin has been racing supercross for 16 year now. Not only is he ‘in it to win it’, he will most definitely help the younger riders on the team.
Trey Canard – 250 Supercross Lites. Trey is ready to go in 2010. He’s got the bike, and he’s got the speed, having won the 2008 Eastern Division Supercross Championship in 2008.
Brett Metcalfe – 250 Supercross Lites. Brett is originally from Australia. Look for his number 24 up near, or at the front.
Blake Wharton – 250 Supercross Lites. Blake is one of GEICO Honda’s young riders where Windham (and their new team manager) will help make a difference in learning the “in’s and out’s” of professional supercross and motocross racing.
Justin Barcia – 250 Supercross Lites. Justin is a ‘rookie’ in supercross … but don’t expect him to run anything but full speed and near the front as well. His 2009 outdoor skills gave crowds across America great excitement!
And guess who the new Team Manager is for GEICO Honda? Former National Motocross Champion, and multiple supercross winnner Mike LaRocco! (The original Factory Connection ‘Factory’ rider!)
