SERIES SCHEDULE

The 2009 AMA Supercross Series, an FIM World Championship, schedule includes three new cities and four new stadiums. The 2009 Supercross season begins January 3 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim CA and concludes at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas May 2.

The calendar is announced simultaneously by the FIM, the AMA and the main Series promoter Feld Motor Sports. Some changes were made for 2009. The round in Indianapolis will take place at the Lucas Oil Stadium. Rounds will also be held in the New Orleans Superdome, in Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and in Salt Lake City’s Rice-Eccles Stadium. The round in Toronto, Canada, will take place on March 28.

The joint efforts of Feld Motor Sports, the AMA and the FIM, and Daytona International Speedway have again set the riders’ and teams’ stage for an exciting 2009 AMA Supercross Series, an FIM World Championship season. For many riders and teams, Anaheim will once again be the start of their quest for the supercross grail. For the many supercross fans all over the world, it will be the beginning of another thrilling season. In the end, only one rider will be standing and he will be crowned the 2009 World Champion. With the consolidation of the AMA/FIM Series this past season into one unified World Championship, supercross has reached world status. The next challenge will be to export Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, events worldwide – from FIM President Vito Ippolito.
