Biography

James Stewart began racing at the age of four and has raced Kawasaki motorcycles his entire amateur and professional career (dating back to 1993). In 2007, Stewart dominated the World Supercross GP and the AMA Supercross Series, successfully winning both championships in remarkable fashion. While injuries kept him from his first AMA Motocross championship, Stewart is back in 2008 to continue his winning ways and defend his two coveted championships.

Career Championships

2007
Stewart took his second Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP Championship and his first Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Championship, winning an impressive 13 times on the season. He was leading the AMA Motocross championship before a late-season injury kept him from collecting all three major titles.

2006

Stewart won the 2006 Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP Championship and narrowly missed winning the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Championship by two points.  He also won the opening round of the AMA Motocross season and looked quite strong in the title chase before injuries put a damper on his mid-season performance, though he rebounded to win the final round of the series.  Stewart also dominated post season racing, helping Team USA take the overall victory at the Motocross of Nations, before returning to the states for the U.S. Open, where he won both races and the overall title.

2005
Stewart won his first Supercross race at Texas Stadium in Dallas, Texas.  He also accumulated victories at Seattle and Houston. Unfortunately, injuries and illness curtailed his initial Supercross/Motocross season.

2004
Stewart awed racing fans and overwhelmed the competition, winning 18 of the 20 AMA East Supercross Lites and Motocross Lites races. He also set a new record for the most career AMA Supercross Lites and Motocross Lites professional wins with 47.

2003
Stewart won 15 of the 17 races he entered and clinched his first AMA Supercross Lites West title. He suffered a broken collarbone at the East/West AMA Supercross Lites shootout in May and missed the first four Motocross Lites National events, but he won the remaining eight races to finish a close third in final point standings.

2002
Stewart became the youngest rider to ever win an AMA Supercross Lites race (16 yrs., 21 days) and AMA Motocross Lites Championship (16 yrs., 247 days). He also broke the record for most Supercross Lites wins (14), Motocross Lites wins (10), and most consecutive Motocross Lites wins (8) in a single season. Stewart was named 2002 AMA Rookie of the Year
