The October 3, 2009, 3rd Annual “Ride for a Cure” event out at Rynoland in Anza, California was a BLAST !!! Loaded up the dirtbike around 7am and pulled into the Rynoland training facility around 9am. The parking was already packed and the atmosphere was filled with the cause, everyone was here to show support and raise money for breast cancer.
Michele Johnson and Elizabeth Bash having fun
supporting the Ride for a Cure Event
As I was pulling in I saw more women riders then I have seen in years! Lots of the Womens Motocross Association Pro’s were on hand to support the event. I noticed 2009 Womens Motocross Professional of the Year Sara Price, retired rocking race Tanya Satchwell, 2008 WMA Pro Meika Cornelius, XGames Bronze winner Elizabeth Bash and many more.. Lots of the local diehard MXGirls were on hand as well, throwing down some fun laps and littering the track with lots and lots of pink to support Breast Cancer Month!
I noticed a good amount of media support in the pits and I think I even saw FMX Superstar Mike Mason hanging out. AMA Pro #111 Michael Sleeter was hauling around the track making everything look soooo easy!
A fun group of guys threw on decorated “contest” bra’s to support the event, check out the pictures! As you can see Ryan Hughes now understands the meaning of support! The day was a blast and everyone was having way to much fun!
Laurie Carey, the founder of this event did an amazing job, tons of sponsors were on hand to help and donate. Kawasaki was in full effect with track side support, merchandising booth and a private area reserved for introducing the sport of motocross to new riders! It was awesome!
I hope you enjoy all the photos!
