MX1 - Marc de Reuver scored his first ever MX1 Grand Prix win today at the beautiful Mantova, Italy race circuit on the #14 Honda. Seb Pourcel continued his strong showings this year, by winning the first moto, combined with a seventh in the second moto. David Philippaerts scored third overall today, and strengthens his points lead in MX1.
MX2 - 'Hometown' rider, and current MX2 Motocross World Champion Tony Cairoli did not disappoint the hometown crowd in coming away with the win in the MX2 (250cc) class. Tony fell in the first moto, but came back to finish fourth. He came back to win the second moto as well.
Tony and Tyla Rattray (South Africa) and even Tommy Searle (England) are the top three contenders in the MX2 series. Tyla is on top with 199, Cairoli second with 196, and Searle just behind with 191. The next race is June 1 in England.
Women's World Championship Series - Round 2
It was round 2 of the 2008 Women's World Motocross Championship Series as well in Mantova. The results after two motos for the overall:
