Point X Camp: Largest extreme sports camp in the western US set to open
The boys (and girls) who brought you the Mini Warriors Video Series and Travis Pastrana’s Revelation 199 are about to open Point X Camp. After years of planning and preparation, the camp will open later this month (June 2002).
Point X Camp will provide the most extensive action sports training and camping facility in the western United States. Their goal is to give every camper the experience of a lifetime, with the very best trainers and camp counselors in the action sports industry.
Point X Camp’s facilities are spread out among 260 acres in southern California. They have 75,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor skate parks, acres of BMX dirt trails & race tracks, vert ramps and bowl sections.
The skate park facilities have been designed and constructed by director John Tyson of Vertical Production Industries and his crew. (They design and build the X-Games courses, various mobile tours and many skate parks around the world.) The full-fledged motocross and supercross tracks are set to open in the fall.
In addition to BMX racing, BMX downhill, BMX freestyle, inline skating, street and vert skate boarding, and motocross, you can rope-swing off the back of the clover bowl, enjoy the water trampolines, kayaks, paddle boats and swimming.
We’ll have more info as the camp gets closer to it’s Grand Opening. Also, you may phone them directly at 1 888 4 POINTX
