Citrus Bowl
Stewart storms Orlando Supercross, Grant takes Lites
Supercross Class: James Stewart dominated the 20 lap ‘home town’ main event. He got the holeshot, never looked back, and won by a large margin. Ricky Carmichael settled into second early on and would eventually finish there. Nick Wey grabbed the final podium spot from Ivan Tedesco late in the race. The point standings have Ricky Carmichael in 1st with 237, Chad Reed in 2nd with 229, and James Stewart in 3rd with 214.
You could tell Chad Reed was in a lot of pain, after a mid pack start he was able to dig down deep and finish 5th.
Kevin Windham finished a respectable 9th after missing the first part of the season due to a broken arm.
Lites Class: Josh Grant was the winner of the 15 lap main event. Davi Millsaps finished second, and third place went to Chris Gosselaar. Josh Grant is now tied with Chris Gosselaar in second place with 94 points. Davi Millsaps is in the points lead with 119.
Notes: Kevin Windham, #14 of the Sobe Samsung Honda team, made his return to racing after suffering a broken arm in December. He finished in ninth place. Chad Reed had a couple of mishaps in his heat, had to go to semi to qualify. He’s also still feeling the effects of a sore shoulder from a week ago. He gutted it out to finish 5th. Lap times were around 55 seconds for the fastest guys, and the track was very sandy.
