Chad Reed won the last round of the 125 All Japan Motocross, besting Ernesto Fonseca. Chad rode a YZ 250 four-stroke, and Ernesto rode the new Honda CRF250R four-stroke. Each had a win and a second, with Chad getting the overall.
GP regular Yves DeMaria won both 250 races on a KTM 450. Second was Takeshi Koikeda on a Yamaha.

Chad “Now I can concentrate on the 250 class. I really like 250′s and it’s better for my riding style. For outdoor, I’m not sure which bike I’ll use in 2003. I like the YZ450F a lot. It’s very fast and you get good starts. So maybe I will ride it.”
Ernesto “It’s time to go back home and practice to be ready for 2003 supercross. I don’t know yet what bike I will use next season. It depends on what Honda comes up with.”
