Kawasaki’s special MX day for women
Published October 15th, 2005
We thought we were going to write a great story about how Kawasaki really stepped up to the plate and made a statement about women and motocross.
We were going to mention that they stepped up by gathering many of the top women in the motorcycling industry, and putting them thru a riding instruction class headed by multi-time champion Mercedes Gonzalez-Natvig. Special guest instructors included multi-time motocross and supercross champion Jeff Emig, and off-road racing legend Destry Abbott. Kawasaki provided the bikes, technicians, and perfectly groomed track, along with breakfast and lunch.
We could tell you that Jacquelyn Albrecht, Laurel Allen, Molly Culver, Loralee Hajdu, Miki Keller, Shasta Johnson, Lotus Campbell, Heather Lewis, Elizabeth Bash, Gale Webb, Jean Turner, Sarah Schilke, Genevieve Schmitt were there. They are PR people, magazine editors, actresses, professional racers, heads of racing associations, gear company owners, gear representatives, off-road riding teachers, a MX Mom, advertising managers, and journalists.
And then we were going to tell you how everyone involved had such a great time, learned so much, and couldn’t get the smiles off their faces. But instead, we’ll just let the photos tell the story. And a video feature on Supercross.com TV will come in the future.
