Glen Helen National MX Saturday practice photos

September 9th, 2006: Practice day for the last national motocross of 2006. Glen Helen Raceway. High desert in San Bernardino, California. Sunny, hot, and dry.
The track was modified a bit from previous years, with the biggest change being the addition of the ‘REM’ track in the back, which includes a big triple jump that brings the riders back down to the ‘normal’ track. The triple was big, but it was the landing that made it even harder – it’s a steep downhill.
Most riders did not jump the entire thing the first few laps. But as some got the hang of it, more riders started airing it out. It was exciting … photos don’t do justice to just how difficult the jump and landing were.
