Fly on the wall

Published October 12th, 2003

RJ wasn’t returning my calls or e-mails. Finally, I got ahold of him. He said “I don’t have much going on today, and my day is basically open. Meet me, we can hang out, and talk about business.”

I drove up the 15 to meet Rick at the Suzuki supercross testing track at 8am. I was excited – we could finally get together and get some business stuff done. As I pulled into the facility, I noticed Rick was working with Nick Wey and Brian Gray.

Around 5pm I headed back home. At the end of the day I had logged 466 miles. We didn’t get much real work done, but I did get to be a ‘fly on the wall’ for a few hours.

Then we hit the road to drive over to Troy Lee’s. That’s Brian Gray’s rig

Troy Lee’s place is still getting organized. As soon as we walked in, RJ noticed the leathers of Kenny Roberts, Mert Lawill, and Gary Nixon.
