EnduroCross 2007: Las Vegas Finale!

Published February 11th, 2008

Let’s start with the track. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen (unless you’ve been to an EnduroCross). It’s … incredibly difficult. Rocks, ruts, logs, water, sand, more rocks, … it is action packed from start to finish!

Second of all – it’s Vegas! For all the reasons that Vegas is famous (and infamous) for, it makes the weekend here even more exciting!

Third – the crowd. It’s been sold out for months. And they enjoyed every minute of it! So many champions from so many disciplines of motorcycling ….

Fourth – the race itself – the finale was a great race between the Isle of Man’s David Knight and Taddy Blazusiak from Poland.

Taddy won the race, but with David Knight finishing second, David wraps up the championship title for 2007 – AMA EnduroCross champion! Taddy rides for KTM, and here’s part of what their press release on the event said:

It was Knight and Blazusiak out front around the first turn. Knight continued to lead for the next four laps with Blazusiak right on his tail. Blazusiak continued to pursue Knight trying every line in an attempt to make a pass. The crowd often gasped as it looked like he might take himself out before making a clean pass on Knight. After the half way mark Blazusiak stepped up and made the pass on the series leader in the lower rock section right before the water. Knight remained close but Blazusiak was determined to win and he hung on to first position through the checkered flag.

Blazusiak and Knight commended each other on good rides and opened the champagne bottles for the podium celebration. “I want to thank the KTM Team and the event organizers for tonight’s event. I had a great time and hope to be back for 2008,” remarked an excited Blazusiak after the race.

The top three: Taddy Blazusiak, David Knight, and Mika Ahola from Finland. For all the results, you can visit EnduroCross.com

For next year, the series expands to six rounds, starting in Vegas in July, and then going to South Carolina, Denver, Oklahoma, Ohio, and then the finale back in Vegas in November!
