This week is a week I look forward to each and every year. It is (as far as I know) the only place you can see almost every discipline of two wheeled action, … all types of people from all over the world, and EVERYONE bringing out their inner “Biker Dude/Gal” for a week of sun, concerts, parties, street festivals, and my personal favorite, SUPERCROSS!
Yup, you guessed it – its Daytona Bike Week – in where else but Daytona Beach, Florida!
I first came to Bike Week as a pup – only 19. And after I saw for the first time an 85 year old woman riding a Harley in a tiny bikini and leather chaps, well, I was hooked! Hah! And for every story like that, there are so many others!
Approximately 500,000 people make their way to Daytona’s Bike Week each year. Can you believe it?!? It’s truly something you have to experience – come check it out sometime!

It’s hard for me to say what my favorite part of Bike Week is (besides the Supercross of course : ) But if I had to pinpoint one specific item, I’d have to say it’s the atmosphere. Like I said previously, there is just nothing like this place. Everyone is walking around or riding around with a big smile on their face – all in the same spirit and camaraderie of motorcycling and fun (and sometimes with a beer in their hand!) It’s one big fun party and more. Much more!
You wake up to the sounds of engines revving early in the morning. And you’ll go to sleep at night hearing the sounds of engines revving too! : ) You get to see some serious racing in the Famous Daytona International Speedway, and you get to Party it up at night with 500,000 of your closest friends!
I started my Bike Week off right with a ride on “The Sling Shot” – an amusement park ride set up right on the beach, that literally slings you (me!) up 360ft into the air. Man – what a ride that was, not to mention the view!
