Stewart’s first 250 supercross win!
James Stewart, riding in the third 250cc main event of his professional career, won tonight’s AMA Supercross race in Dallas. James led all 20 laps, and made it look easy. Second place was 2005 series points leader Ricky Carmichael, and third went to Chad Reed after a fall towards the end of the main. In the point standings, it’s Carmichael leading Reed by 31 with just four rounds to go. Is this a historic first win of many to come for Bubba, such as Jeremy McGrath winning in Anaheim 1993 or Ricky Carmichael winning in Daytona 2000???
The 125 class once again had the top three competitors going after it – Grant Langston, Josh Hansen, and Davi Millsaps. Grant Langston won tonight, and extends the series lead to 7 over Josh Hansen. Davi Millsaps finished second in the main, and is three points behind Hansen. Should be fun down to the wire in the east.
TV: April 3 – ESPN2 – 12:30pm Eastern Time – Dallas
Next event: April 9 – Pontaic/Detroit MI
