Chad Reed is the new, 2009 AMA 450 National Motocross Champion! His first outdoor championship ever in the USA!
Riding for the Rockstar / Makita / Suzuki team on the RMZ 450, Chad came on very strong in clinching the championship with two rounds remaining in the series, winning the last four events in a row:
- Round 1 – Glen Helen CA – 4th
- Round 2 – Sacramento CA – 3rd
- Round 3 – Wortham TX – 3rd
- Round 4 – High Point PA – 1st
- Round 5 – Lakewood CO – 4th
- Round 6 – Red Bud MI – 2nd
- Round 7 – Millville MN – 1st
- Round 8 – Washougal WA – 1st
- Round 9 – Unadilla NY – 1st
- Round 10 – Budds Creek MD – 1st
