Carmichael, Townley take round 1 at AMA Sacramento Motocross

Ricky Carmichael was the overall winner in the 450 class today, taking a second behind James Stewart in the first moto, and winning the second moto. James finished second overall via the win in the first moto, and a fourth in the second moto (he bobbled a couple of times). And Tim Ferry took third overall in the 450s with two third place finishes. James and Ricky put on a great show in the first moto, very close the entire race.

In 250 class, Ben Townley was the overall winner. He finished runner up to Ryan Villipoto in the first moto, and won the second moto. Villipoto was second overall by winning the first moto, and then finishing second in the finale. Ryan Dungey was third overall with two third place finishes.
