Supporting The V Foundation for Cancer Research and STAPLES Center Foundation
Hosted by ESPN’s anchorwoman Dana Jacobson, the X Games Behind the Big Air Benefit will be an evening filled with exclusive VIP meet and greets with X Games 15 athletes and celebrities, music provided by the world famous KROQ and the award-winning cuisine of Levy Restaurants. The exclusive third annual opening night bash benefiting The V Foundation for Cancer Research and the STAPLES Center Foundation will take place Wednesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. atop the STAPLES Center celebrated City View Terrace.
“We are thrilled to partner with the STAPLES Center Foundation for a third year with this great benefit to kick off X Games 15,” said Amy Lupo, senior director, Global X Event Marketing and Content. “The V Foundation for Cancer Research supports a cause that is important to the ESPN family, and we truly appreciate the participation and support from the STAPLES Center Foundation and the community at large.”
A silent auction filled with sports memorabilia will highlight the evening. Auction items will include two tickets to Cher in concert in Las Vegas, a signed Tony Hawk Birdhouse skateboard, Lebron James signed jersey, VIP package to the 2010 GRAMMY Awards and more. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a special “Autograph Alley” and collect signatures from their favorite Skateboard Big Air competitors. Athletes in attendance include Simon Tabron (BMX Freestyle Vert), Andy Macdonald (Skateboard Big Air / Big Air Rail Jam), Sandro Dias (Skateboard Vert), and many more.
Net profits will support the work of two important charities, both the STAPLES Center Foundation and The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Sponsors for the Behind the Big Air Benefit are The Wasserman Foundation and Jakks Pacific.
