Carmichael dominant in Supercross, Langston wins Lites …

With perfect southern California weather conditions, defending AMA Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael dominated the 20 lap main event tonight. He also leads the point standings with 117 points.

Chad Reed finished in the runner up position tonight. He also moved into second position in the point standings, with 104 points.

Third tonight was Carmichael’s Makita Suzuki team-mate, and 2005 Lites West Champion – Ivan Tedesco.

Notes: Fast lap times were in the 56 second range. James Stewart fell in the first corner, then tangled with Jeremy McGrath, eventually finishing in 8th position. James is third in the points with 103. Jeremy McGrath finished 16th.

The Lites class saw Grant Langston dominant the 15 lap main event. He also leads the point standings as the series heads to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Andrew Short finished second in the main event, and is now second in the points, one point behind Langston. Mike Alessi finished third tonight. Ryan Villopoto finished in seventh position.
