450 Motocross: Guess who won today? Would you be guessing the man that’s won every race this season in the 450 Motocross class in the AMA series? Then you would be correct! James Stewart, once again, won both motos to secure the overall. James has a ‘perfect’ season going so far – he’s won every moto since the series started in late May in San Bernardino CA.
Second overall today went to Honda’s Andrew Short – he went 2/2. Michael Byrne continued his motocross season charge, finishing 3/3 for third overall. And another Suzuki rider that’s really making a name for himself – Cody Cooper – number 902, finished fourth overall with moto finishes of 4/4.
There is a possibility that James Stewart could wrap up the 2008 AMA 450 Motocross Championship Series title at the next event in Millville MN!
250 Motocross Lites: Ryan Dungey won his first race of the season, with moto finishes of second and first. It’s also the first win of the motocross season for Team Suzuki. Ryan battled with series points leader Ryan Villopoto in the second moto, but said his ‘conditioning kicked in’ at the end of two 30 minute plus two lap motos, and was able to pull off the win! Ryan Villopoto was second overall on his ‘home’ track, with finishes of 1/2. Third overall went to Josh Grant.
250 East Supercross Champion Trey Canard had a tough day. First moto finished 22nd, second moto had a fall near the end of the race.
