The track here at Washougal is beautiful. It’s set in a park-like setting – lots of trees, grass, and hills. The dirt this morning is perfect – rich, dark, brown, and loamy. Many parts of the track are in shade because of the trees – it makes for varying conditions, especially tough it’s it’s sunny in the second motos. This morning it’s been overcast, minimizing the shadows.
450 Moto 1 – it’s Ryan Dungey, on the number 1 KTM leading out of the first corner. At the end of lap one it’s Dungey, Justin Barcia, James Stewart, Andrew Short, and Ryan Villopoto. These 450′s are so aggressive …
At the end of five laps, it’s Ryan Dungey leading James Stewart by about four seconds. Ryan Villopoto is now third behind Stewart. Barcia is fourth. Then Short, Grant, Alessi, Peick, R Sipes, and Chad Reed.
Dungey continues to lead. Stewart in second, with Villopoto third. Barcia fourth.
On lap ten, going up a big hill – HorsePower Hill, Stewart is holding off Villopoto. And as they emerge out of the trees from the backside of the track – Villopoto is second!
At the end of this 30 minute plus 2 lap moto, (17 laps), Ryan Dungey has won! Ryan Villopoto take second, James Stewart third. Then Justin Barcia, Josh Grant, Andrew Short, Mike Alessi, Weston Peick, Chad Reed, and Jake Weimer 10th.

And Roczen moves past Bogle. Ken Roczen is now in second place.

If they finish this way – Villopoto first, Dungey second – they will tie on points – 47 each. (First place is 25 points, second place is 22 points.) However, Villopoto would take the overall victory, based on the tie-breaker, which is the better second moto performance.
12 laps into this race, Villopoto leads Dungey by 8 seconds. James Stewart is third, almost 30 seconds behind Dungey. Then it’s Weimer, Tickle, Chad Reed with his best ride in a while, Alessi, Nicoletti, Grant, and Short.

Then Jason Anderson, Blake Baggett, Justin Hill, Martin Davalos, Cole Seely, Kyle Cunningham, Cooper Webb, Jeremy Martin, Jeremy Martin, Wil Hahn, Darryn Durham, and Adam Ciaciarulo 16th out of 35 riders that started.
