It’s warm and sunny today, with a good crowd streaming in. News coming into today’s event, fan favorite James Stewart will not be racing this weekend. He’s still not 100% due to a sore wrist suffered two weeks ago at the event in Colorado.
250 Class qualifying - Justin Barcia on top with quickest lap – 1 minute 58 seconds. Then teamate Eli Tomac, World MX2 Motocross Champion Ken Roczen, Blake Baggett, Gareth Swanepoel, Marvin Musquin, Wil Hahn, Jason Anderson, Jessy Nelson, and Malcolm Stewart rounding out the top ten of 73 riders attempting to race today.
450 Class qualifying – It’s points leader Ryan Dungey on top with 1 minute 58 seconds. Then Mike Alessi, Josh Grant, Broc Tickle, Justin Brayton, Jake Weimer, Ryan Sipes, Andrew Short, Davi Millsaps, and Kyle Chisholm round out the top ten of 78 riders attempting to race today.
250 Class Moto 1 – It’s Kenny Roczen with the early lead, followed by Justin Barcia. And these top two have started to pull away already.
Five laps in – it’s Roczen leading Barcia, with Blake Baggett now into third position. Then it’s Eli Tomac and Marvin Musquin. The top guys are up front.
25 minutes into this 30 minute plus two lap moto – Kenny Roczen leading, Justin Barcia about .5 seconds behind, and … here comes Blake Baggett, in third place, but closing on those top two.
Lap 12 – Barcia moves past Roczen and into the lead! Less than half a lap later – Baggett moves past Roczen as well. Running order with less than ten minutes to go – Barcia first, Baggett second, Roczen third. A ways back – it’s Marvin Musquin fourth, Eli Tomac fifth, Wil Hahn, and Jason Anderson
It was close right down the checkered between those top three – Justin Barcia wins over Blake Baggett and Ken Roczen! Fourth is Marvin Musquin, then Eli Tomac, Wil Hahn, Jason Anderson, Ivan Tedesco, Blake Wharton and Jessy Nelson round out the top ten. This race went 17 laps.
450 Class Moto 1 – The holeshot goes to Justin Brayton, but series points leader Ryan Dungey moves into first before the end of the first lap. At the end of the first lap the running order is Dungey, Brayton, Mike Alessi, Broc Tickle, Michael Byrne, Jake Weimer, Andrew Short, and Ryan Sipes.

Ryan Dungey
15 minutes into this race: Ryan Dungey is making it look easy. He’s out front, very smooth, very controlled on the KTM 450. Broc Tickle has moved into second, Mike Alessi into third, then Jake Weimer, Justin Brayton, Andrew Short, Ryan Sipes, Brett Metcalfe, Davi Millsaps, and Michael Byrne.
Ryan Dungey wins this 17 lap race easily. Second place goes to Broc Tickle, then Jake Weimer third. Fourth through tenth: Mike Alessi, Justin Brayton, Andrew Short, Ryan Sipes, Brett Metcalfe, Davi Millsaps and Josh Grant.
250 Class Moto 2 – As the gate droped it was Ivan Tedesco who claimed the holeshot. Ken Roczen made an early pass to take the lead, followed closely by fellow Red Bull KTM teammate, Marvin Musquin. ‘Hot Sauce’ crashed on the first lap and was unable to finish the moto.
10 minutes into moto two the running order: Roczen, Musuin, Baggett, Tomac, and Barcia. But less than five mins later, Blake Baggett passed Musquin for 2nd as they made the jump down Henry Hill.
Just before the last 2 laps of the moto, Baggett passed Roczen, as the German rider was slowed down by a lapped rider.
After 17 laps, Blake Baggett took the win. A disappointed Ken Roczen finished second, while Eli Tomac claims third. The rest of the top 10: Musquin, Barcia, Anderson, Wil Hahn, Canada, Nicoletti, and Baker.
450 Class Moto 2 – It was Mike Alessi with another patented holeshot, followed closely by Broc Tickle and Ryan Dungey. Dungey made an early pass on Tickle to move into 2nd.
On the third lap of the moto Dungey made the pass on Alessi and checked out. Tickle then passed Alessi on lap six.
With 10 mins left Kyle Regal dropped to 8th, as Jake Weimer blew by him to move to 6th, and Metcalfe took over 7th.
Ryan Dungey took the checkered flag, as he swept both motos. This is his sixth moto win in a row, sweeping Thunder Valley, High Point and Budds Creek. Ryan moves into sixth place all-time with 17 outdoor wins, moving passed Jeff Emig. Broc Tickle finished 2nd, his best overall finish in the outdoors, with Mike Alessi who finished 3rd. The rest of the top 10: Weimer, Grant, Metcalfe, Millsaps, Brayton, Regal, and Short.
