2012 FIM World Motocross – Round 10 – Latvia – Qualifying

Tony Cairoli, Clement Desalle and Christophe Pourcel battle for MX 1 World Motocross Supremacy! Jeffrey Herlings and Tommy Searle in MX2! Latvia – Round 10! In today’s qualifying races, it was world champion Tony Cairoii on top in MX1, and Belgian Jeremy van Horebeek winning in MX 2!

Kegums
The Latvian Grand Prix started today in Kegums with some rain early in the morning, … but it was a dry day by the end.
However, the MX1 riders were surprised with some heavy rain in the middle of their qualifying heat. In the end World Champion Antonio Cairoli had the victory. In MX2 the victory went to Jeremy Van Horebeek.
In both heats there was a crash in the first corner; in MX1 Christophe Pourcel, Sebastian Pourcel, Xavier Boog and Davide Guarneri were the ones involved in the tangle. In MX2 it was Dylan Ferrandis, Alessandro Lupino and Zach Osborne the top riders who crashed and had to fight from the back of the pack.
Current MX2 point leader, Jeffrey Herlings, who succeeded in being the fasted of the pre qualifying session, had a DNF in the qualifying race because he had a problem with the rear tyre while he was comfortably leading the race.
