2011 AMA Women’s Motocross – Round 7 – Steel City MX

Round 7 of the Women’s AMA National Motocross Series Championship, in Delmont, PA. Ashley Fiolek and Jessica Patterson are the top two women in 2011, and Ashley comes into Steel City with a 30 point lead over Jessica with two rounds left in the series. But Jessica sweeps both motos today, and closes the gap to 22 points heading into the season finale at Pala Raceway next Saturday.

Steel City MX

Timed practice has Jessica Patterson on top with 2 minutes 45 seconds. Tarah Gieger next at 2 minutes 47 seconds. Series points leader Ashley Fiolek third with a 2 minute 48 second lap time.

Moto 1

The Women’s AMA Pro Motocross series motos are 15 minutes plus one lap. And this first race at Steel City goes seven laps, with Jessica Patterson taking the victory. Second thru tenth – Tarah Gieger, Ashley Fiolek, J Strong, M Balbi, Vicki Golden, S Kaneshiro, K Creson, A Pearson, and S Whitmore.

Moto 2

This race is the last moto of the day at Steel City for the professionals. This race for the top professional women racing in America is going to be won by Jessica Patterson. She’s mathmatically still in the running for the 2011 championship, but Ashley Fiolek has a nice 22 point lead heading into the final round next Saturday at Pala Raceway in San Diego.

The top ten in this moto – Patterson, Fiolek, Tarah Gieger, M Balbi, Vicki Golden, J Strong, K Creson, S Kaneshiro, A Pearson, and S Whitmore.

Top three overall – Patterson, Fiolek, Gieger.
