The 2010 GEICO MiniMotoSX, presented by Monster Energy, is the richest mini bike race of all-time!

ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 29, 2010) – A bunch of guys are gonna walk out of the Orleans Arena next Friday, May 7th, each with a wad of cash big enough to entice an entire catwalk of Vegas strippers into a limo – or possibly outfit their already blinged-out mini bikes with even more titanium and carbon fiber parts.

The richest mini bike race in history is posting cash prizes, product and industry contingency totaling more than $50,000!

“Though the bikes are mini, the cash prizes are huge – which attracts the best racers in the world to GEICO MiniMotoSX,” said Lance Bryson, Director of Sales & Marketing for GEICO MiniMotoSX. “With a packed house and gracious sponsors we’re able to put together the biggest purse in mini cycle racing history. And with money on the line you know the racing’s going to be great – if not a downright fistfight to the finish!”

With nearly $20,000 in cash prize purse money alone, the 10″ and 12″ Expert class winners, along with the inaugural GEICO MMSX World Final winner, will each pocket three grand – or almost a cool TEN GRAND if one guy can sweep all three events.

The annual GEICO MiniMotoSX, presented by Monster Energy, is the largest indoor motorsports competition of its kind. With more than 600 registered riders in 2009 the event literally allows for mini bike enthusiasts to become part of the show. As one racer put it: “At GEICO MiniMotoSX you don’t just show up and watch racing in Vegas – you boot up and get on the track yourself to race in front of a packed house at the Orleans.” Featuring numerous classes at all age and ability levels, GEICO MiniMotoSX delivers an unforgettable day of racing action for both fans and racers alike, along with an affordable ‘Vegas experience’ given the hotel and ticket package at the Orleans Hotel and Arena. Registration for the event is open right now on www.minimotosx.com

World’s Fastest Motocross Riders Showcased All Summer Long Exclusively on SPEED and NBC Sports

Schedule Highlighted by Multiple Live Broadcasts

After introducing the most innovative domestic television package in motocross history last season, MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports, return with exclusive coverage from SPEED and NBC Sports for the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. All 12 rounds from the world’s most renowned motocross circuits will be broadcast directly into millions of homes throughout the U.S.

For the second year in a row, NBC Sports will showcase the only motocross action on live broadcast network television for three rounds: the Rockstar Energy High Point National on June 12, the Rockstar Energy RedBud National on July 3, and the Rockstar Energy Unadilla National on August 14. High Point, RedBud and Unadilla are three of the best known circuits in the motocross world.

“The introduction of live races on SPEED and NBC was one of the most significant moments in American motocross history,” said MX Sports Vice President Davey Coombs. “We are extremely excited for their return in 2010 and we can’t wait to continue the tremendous growth the sport has achieved in recent years by being brought into millions of additional homes.”

In addition to the trio of live events on NBC broadcast network television, SPEED will serve as the exclusive cable home of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, featuring a pair of live events with the Washougal Motocross National on July 24, as well as the championship finale on September 11. All seven remaining rounds of the series can be seen on SPEED via same-day coverage, with exception of the season-opening Rockstar Energy Hangtown Classic, which will air next-day on Sunday, May 23, as a result of SPEED’s previous commitment to NASCAR’s All-Star Weekend programming.

The highly-talented 250 Class will also have an exclusive home on SPEED, with seven rounds shown via same day, back-to-back coverage with the 450 Class. The remaining five rounds can be seen on the Sunday following each national.

Nation’s Fastest Females Showcasing More Support than Ever Before

The success achieved at last season’s Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) has carried over into 2010 as the nation’s top female competitors prepare for another exciting eight-race championship featuring two new tracks, a new title sponsor and more support for the riders and the series than ever before.

Highlighting the 2010 season is title sponsorship from MotorcycleUSA, which covers the all aspects motorcycling and off road riding, and who will also serve as the sponsor for the WMX Class Holeshot Award. Also creating considerable buzz is the introduction of a pair of new venues to the schedule. For the first time, women will be featured at the legendary Rockstar Energy RedBud National on 4th of July weekend as well as the very popular and historical Rockstar Energy Spring Creek National on July 17.

In addition to the title sponsorship, MotorcycleUSA will also sponsor the WMX Class Holeshot Awards – $250 for each moto – providing the ahletes with some extra incentive to get out front early.

Defending two-time champion Ashley Fiolek will lead the way for Honda Red Bull Racing as challengers Jessica Patterson, who now races from DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing Yamaha, Sherri Cruse, a member of the Suzuki City squad, Vicki Golden, of MotoConcepts Yamaha all give chase.
