MX1 – Belgian Suzuki racer Clement Desalle has won his first Grand Prix of the season, with finishes of 2/2. World MX1 Motocross Champion Tony Cairoli, from Italy, took second overall by finishing fifth in the first moto, and winning the second moto. Third overall went to Max Nagl from Germany, racing for KTM, with moto finishes of 1/5.
Cairoli leads the MX1 GP Points standings over team-mate Max Nagl, 179 to 161, as they head into round 5 next weekend in Spain.
MX2 – There is no doubt who the top three fastest racers are in MX2 – Marvin Musquin, Ken Roczen, and Jeffrey Herlings. Defending World MX2 Motocross Champion Marvin Musquin of France, racing for KTM, won both motos of today’s racing, and reclaimed the points lead. And as you can see by the results, Jeffery Herlings, from the Netherlands, also racing for KTM finished in second position on the podium, and Ken Roczen of Germany, racing for Suzuki took third place. American Zach Osborne, racing on Yamaha, had his best finish of the season with fourth overall.
Notes: There was one minute of silence at the race track, in memory of Andrew McFarlane and Danny “Magoo” Chandler. It’s also Round 2 of the Women’s World MX Series, and you can see their results here at this link.
