Today is Day 2 of my adventure at the World Famous Paris Bercy Supercross – the 28th edition. But I’d like to start with a bit about Paris, and France. I did get to spend some time taking in the sights, walking along the Seine River, seeing and talking to the locals, having lunch and dinner at sidewalks cafes, seeing traditional book shops and artists.
Paris is a great city. Something for everyone … but to me it was nice to be able to take the time to see the city, the culture, the history, and walk amongst it all. If you get the opportunity to come here and witness the race, take the time to also visit in the city – you’ll love it.
On to the night’s activities at the sold out Palais Omnisport de Bercy arena. European Supercross Champion Greg Aranda won! Another Frenchman Cedric Soubeyras was second! Kyle Chisholm from the USA third! The previous night’s winner, Justin Barcia, finished in fifth.
World MX2 Motocross Champion Marvin Musquin had an off night. He put his foot out in a corner, felt a little twinge in his knee, but no pain. A few seconds later he landed from a jump and the knee started to hurt. He was finished for the night, and getting examined by his doctor on Sunday.
One of the great things as we get ready for Day 3 to see who will be crowned 2010 King of Bercy – for the first time ever in the event’s history – three riders are tied for first place going into the last night of racing! Justin Barcia, Kyle Chisholm, and Cedric Soubeyras!
