Supercross 2010 – Preview Part 4 (Kinda’)

Some (industry) New Year’s Resolutions …

Greetings fans of Supercross.com!

When a new year begins, many people feel it’s a good time to start doing something they have been putting off the previous year. Whether it be to do something for themselves (like loose weight or start working out or read that new book!) or to do something for another (be a better sister, brother, father, mother, friend), a New Year’s Resolution is a perfect time to set that goal you want to accomplish!

2010 can be a fresh start, and new beginning for all.

Soooo, …. I tried to communicate with as many people in the industry as I could, to get their New Year’s Resolutions – in less than one hour! And whoever took the time to write me back (and your answers are below), THANK YOU!

When your done reading them, feel free to add your own! I would love to read them!!! Chime in!

ENJOY!

Sebastien Tortelli – former multi time World Motocross Champion, ChampFactory:

I don’t have any crazy resolutions for 2010. Mine are simple – get ChampFactory MX School on the map, and help more kids.

2. Best efficiency in our team work to get the world championship title in MX1.

3. Finish off my lifetime dream – cozy up in the house by the lake before the season starts.

How Supercross.com Rolls

How Supercross.com Rolls

I was lucky enough to be able to hang out with two of the most important people in the Supercross.com World Empire – Michelle and Lex. They invited me to one of the posh Supercross.com parties that rage across the globe at various times during the year.

This party was held at the elegant, world famous US Grant Hotel in San Diego.

And let me tell you, these people know how to party, eat, drink, dance, have fun, and make friends like nobody’s business. They are, in a word – amazing.

We arrived a the luxurious US Grant, and were greeting by staff which valeted our car. They escorted us into the main lobby of the hotel, with it’s artwork, marble flooring, and crystal chandeliers.

Next, we were seated for dinner. We orders a bottle of a Russian Chardonnay, that was perfectly suited to the atmosphere, company on hand, and tasted so very good.

Our dinner – an exquisite sea bass entree, a Scottish salmon entree, along with special treats sent to us by the chef, knowing full well how to treat the special guests (Michelle and Lex) on hand.

The combinations and palette pleasing tastes were out of this world. So, as Supercross.com is wont to do – more wine was promptly ordered.

It was the day before New Years Eve, and the decorations both inside and outside still had that ‘Christmas’ feel. It was beautiful.

A word about Michelle – this young woman is the epitome of class, elegance, refinement, charm, beauty, and brains. And Lex, at least he wore a shirt with a collar that didn’t have a motorcycle logo on it.

Hopefully, they will invite me back again. I had the time of my life. They are two of the most special people you will ever meet. Hopefully my photos, although not the best (coming from an iPhone) will give you just a glimpse into the life of these two very special people.

Supercross 2010 Preview (Part 3) – RedBull Honda

Supercross 2010 Preview (Part 3) – RedBull Honda

The 2010 AMA Supercross Series is getting ready to start! Today in Part 3, we give you Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short & Davi Millsaps.

Three returning members will make up the 2010 Honda Red Bull Racing team: Andrew Short & Davi Millsaps, both who will be racing the premier 450 class in Supercross and National MX, and defending Women’s National Motocross Champion Ashley Fiolek.

Andrew Short #29

Andrew says: Training for Supercross and Motocross is completely different. Supercross is more of a sprint, more high-end. You have to have really quick reflexes. Riding outdoors is more physically demanding. The thing I like most about racing Supercross is the rhythm and flow of the race. It’s not so wide open and pure speed. It’s a whole other animal from outdoors.

Short seems perfectly matched to his Honda CRF450R. In his hands and under his guidance, the 450 floats over an MX or SX course like a feather. Short is an extraordinarily smooth rider, and maybe that’s one of the reasons he is so seldom on the injured list. But that ease belies his speed, and Short is plenty fast. He and his CRF450 seem to get along particularly well at starts.

“Motocross is a very humbling sport. You always have to treat it with respect, and you always have to give it 100 percent. The changes to the 2010 bike have been awesome, and I think they’re going to work to our advantage in the racing season. My mechanic is Jason Haines. We know what to do and what’s going to work, while some of those other guys are going to struggle with development” says Short.

Davi Millsaps #18

“I think I’m going to be a lot stronger and a lot more mentally prepared in 2010. I know where I need to be. I know the pace I have to go. I know what I have to do – it’s just a matter of going out there and doing the hard work and getting the job done” says Millsaps.

Millsaps also thinks he has the best bike. “The CRF450R is an amazing machine. It’s so small that I feel like a giant on it, but it’s definitely the way to go. I really want to show everyone that I can run in everyone’s faces and stay up front. I want to battle out front, and the Honda is the right bike for me to do that on. Right now we’ve got the bike working well for me, and I’m looking forward to it. My mechanic is Carlos Rivera. The 2010 bike is a lot better for me – they’ve changed a lot of parts to make it better handling, especially the suspension. It’s definitely the best.”

Holiday Season

Well it looks like Christmas is here, unfortunately its another on in Iraq, but oh well its my job no worries. For anyone who reads this I just want to say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Hope everyone got some good gifts, I know I did, I bought my 2009 Honda CRF 450R before I deployed and that was my early Christmas present. My 450R is by far the greatest gift ever and that bike is awsome to ride, cant wait to get back to it. I also cant wait to get back and put some aftermarket parts on my sport bike.
