Teutschenthal, Germany
MX1 (450 class): Josh Coppins had a double moto sweep in Germany, his first Grand Prix win in almost a year. After battling a serious foot injury suffered right before the start of the season, Josh seems to be back on form.
A lot of changes in the point standings as well. Coppins moves into second, only four points behind team-mate David Philippaerts, as they head into Sweden next weekend for Round 9.
MX2 (250 class): Each week, it’s quite a battle amongst the top competitors, especially Tyla Rattray and Tony Cairoli, although Tommy Searle in right in the thick of it as well. Rattray and Cairoli have more wins, but have also had a few ‘bad’ motos, which allow Searle’s consistency to play a factor.
Today, Rattray takes the overall win with finishes of 2/1, but Cairoli actually ties him on points (47) with finishes of 1/2. Searle finished fifth overall. The points have Rattray back on top, Searle second, Cairoli third.
In the Women’s World Championship race, it was close action amongst the top three.
The results:
- Stephanie Laier (GER, KTM) 45 points
- Livia Lancelot (FRA, Kawasaki) 45
- Maria Franke (GER, Kawasaki) 44
- Elin Mann (SWE, KTM) 34
- Larissa Papenmeier (GER, Suzuki) 32
(Ashley Fiolek raced this weekend in Colorado.)
The Women’s World Motocross point standings:

- Stephanie Laier – 145
- Maria Franke – 145
- Larissa Papenmeier – 124
- Katherine Prumm – 122
