| Washougal MX Park Tim Ferry, and Ben Townley continue ‘good’ times for ‘green’ riders … 450 Motocross Class: Tim Ferry won his first overall victory since 2001 with finishes of 2/2. Grant Langston finished second overall with motos of fourth and first. (Grant’s first moto win of the year!) Third overall was Andrew Short. But, there was more to the day than that ….. James Stewart won the first moto. James fell right at the start of the second moto, and came around at the end of lap one in 17th place. He moved up to 3rd place, but around lap 12, he fell again, and did not get back up to finish the race. The crowd nearby James was murmuring that James was grabbing his knee in pain. Lucky for James, there is a week off before racing resumes August 12 at Millville MN. And Kevin Windham, who finished fourth overall, said on the P.A. system that he thought the race was over on the white flag lap of the second moto, slowing dramatically, (until he got going again at full speed). Possibly it cost Grant Langston the overall victory! 250 Motocross Lites Class: The championship is definitely coming down to the two Pro Circuit boys – Ben Townley and Ryan Villopoto. Ben Townley won the overall by finishing second in the first moto, and then winning the second moto. Sometimes he seems to be flying ‘under the radar’, but the fact is he now leads the overall points standings over Ryan Villopoto, 357 points to 355 points. ‘Home track’ rider, and defending National Champion Ryan Villopoto won the first moto, but had a fall in the second moto, came back to third, and that secured him second overall on the day. |
