| Freestone County Raceway It will all come down to next weekend at Glen Helen for both AMA National Motocross Championships – 450 & 250. Grant Langston wins the 450 class today, and is position to win his first AMA 450 National Championship next weekend. Defending 250 ‘Lites’ Champion Ryan Villopoto sweeps the 250 class, and puts himself in driver’s seat to repeat as Lites Champion next weekend as well. 450 Motocross Class: Grant Langston is the overall winner on his Yamaha 450. He had moto finishes of 2/1. Second overall went to KTM’s Mike Alessi, his finishes were 3/2. Third overall went to Andrew Short. He won the first moto, and was leading the second moto, but either a fall or another issue dropped him back to fifth. Grant Langston leads the points over Andrew Short, 394 to 386. Notes: Josh Hill of Team Yamaha rode in the 450 class. This event marked the return of AMA National Motocross to Texas since the 80′s. Cody Cooper came from New Zealand and finished 7/6! 250 Motocross Lites Class: All Ryan Villopoto today! He won both motos by large margins. Second overall went to Team Yamaha’s Broc Hepler with finishes of 3/3. Third overall went to championship contender Ben Townley with a sixth in the first moto, and a second in the finale. The most important fact – Villopoto leads Townley in the points by 19, with one race remaining next weekend, 497 to 478. Should be exciting at Glen Helen next weekend! |
