1975 Carlsbad Grand Prix. Were you there?

We were there, along with 40,000 of our closest friends.
Here’s a photo flashback from Father’s Day 1975 – The Classic USGP. It was the most important motocross in the USA every year.
Gerrit Wolsink won the race. Roger DeCoster went on to win the 500cc World Motocross Championship that year. Heikki Mikkola was the defending champ. Brad Lackey was the American hope year after year, until he became the first American to win a World Championship in 1982.
Gasoline was 70 cents a gallon. A new bike was $2000. A new car was $6000. Life was simpler. And we were all a little younger and a little skinnier.
